Our People

Our staff team is skilled in property, tenancy and asset management. Led by an Executive Officer, our staff complement consists of a Manager of Housing Services, four Housing Managers, a Property Asset Manager, Finance Manager and four Administrative Officers.

Properties

Bridge Housing manages 1150 properties housing 1,600 families:

  • 572 properties leased from the private rental market
  • 358 properties leased from the Housing NSW and
  • 152 properties managed through our fee for service program on behalf of other organisations including the Waverley Affordable Housing Program

A further 68 properties are provided through through other Housing NSW programs:

  • Social Housing Subsidy Program (SHSP). SHSP properties are targeted to working households, who are generally on higher incomes than tenants in Bridge Housing 's general housing program; and
  • Home Purchase Assistance
  • Redevelopment program

Performance 

Bridge Housing has achieved two consecutive Type 1 A Grading, the highest performance grading under the  Community Housing Division (CHD) Performance Based Registration System. Following amendments to the Housing Act 2001 passed by NSW Parliament in October 2007, a new regulatory system is being established for community housing in NSW. The draft Housing Regulation 2009 outlines the regulatory code with which all community housing providers must comply in relation to their provision of community housing..Community Housing Division of Housing New South Wales requires all Housing Associations which it funds to be registered and subject toHousing Regulation 2009 . This enables the CHD to monitor and regulate the sector.

Accreditation

Bridge Housing undergoes voluntary Accreditation every three years. Accreditation assesses the quality of our policies, practices and processes. Housing providers are assessed against the seven National Community Housing Standards. These are:

  1. Tenancy Management
  2. Asset Management
  3. Tenants Rights and Participation
  4. Working with the Community
  5. Governance and Organisational Management
  6. Management Systems
  7. Human Resources Management

Bridge Housing achieved full three year accreditation in 2000, 2003 and has been re-accredited in 2008.

Industry Membership

Bridge Housing is a member of the NSW Federation of Housing Associations. The Federation is the peak industry organisation of Housing Associations in NSW. Bridge is also a member of the Community Housing Federation of Australia
