Bridge Housing has helped to bring to fruition two leading research reports impacting social and affordable housing policy and practice through our sponsorship contributions to the Australian and international research projects.

CEO John Nicolades, who is also Vice Chair of the Community Housing Industry Association (CHIA) national Board, said: “Robust, contemporary research underpins both good policy and practice, and it provides a sound evidence base for the vital contribution the community housing sector plays in housing people affordably.”

• UNSW City Futures Research Centre’s Strengthening Economic Cases for Housing Policies
• International research into  pdf Shaping Futures: Changing the Housing Story (905 KB) , a joint initiative by UNSW City Futures Research Centre, the University of Glasgow and the University of Toronto.

Strengthening Economic Cases for Housing Policies examines the productivity gains from better housing policies and the impacts of housing on the broader economy.

pdf Shaping Futures: Changing the Housing Story (905 KB)  reports on the Shaping Futures program, a knowledge exchange and policy analysis initiative spanning Australia, Britain and Canada, which explored the conventional housing policy narratives that have dominated government thinking in those countries.
