Wollongong University student Kelsey Attwood has joined Bridge Housing for four weeks as our first Aboriginal Career Tracker intern.

She is working in our Northern Beaches team, which will transition the tenancy management of some 1,200 social housing tenants from the Government at the end of the month.

Kelsey has learned about our housing IT system, SDM, met Northern Beaches tenants, helped to collect their tenancy paperwork, and visited all areas of the business to understand how a community housing provider works.

Career Trackers is an organisation that supports young Indigenous students through tertiary education and into employment. Learn more about Career Trackers.

Kelsey, 18, who is studying Social Science and hopes to major in Indigenous Studies, said: “When I finish my degree I’d really like to work in a not-for-profit or in government to improve the lives of Indigenous people.”

CEO John Nicolades said: “We are delighted to have Kelsey on the team and to give her an internship that we hope will advance her career opportunities down the track. Career Trackers is a fantastic program that we wholeheartedly support.”
