The STEP to Home homelessness program, run by Bridge Housing and partners for the NSW Government, has housed 52 people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness since it was launched in September 2018.

The "housing first" program is also more than half way to meeting its 3-year target of finding homes for 90 people from 2018-2022.

NEAMI National is the support provider working with us, other services and the NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) to access clients and identify priorities based on a vulnerability index.

We are also working in partnership with Metro Community Housing and the Women’s Housing Company to secure properties and house clients. There are currently 30 people housed by Bridge Housing, 12 people housed by Metro Community Housing, and 10 women housed by the Women’s Housing Company.

CEO John Nicolades said: “We are very pleased to see the program exceeding targets and expectations in addressing the housing needs of rough sleepers and others with long-term homelessness less than 12 months into its three-year funding cycle.”
