London-born and bred Lee Staddon almost fell into the social housing sector in Australia by a series of accidents. He was working as a security/facilities manager for a north London council when he met the Australian woman who was to become his wife.

When she started yearning for home five years ago, they both uprooted and moved to Sydney, where Lee found temporary work as a Client Services Officer (CSO) in FACS (now Department of Communities and Justice) at Hurstville. He later moved to a CSO role in Dee Why later, given the opportunity to act up as a Senior Client Service Officer (SCSO) for two years.

Lee is the Senior Housing Manager in the new Pathways team in the Brookvale office, which manages housing applications and allocations, private rental subsidies, and the Start Safety program for women fleeing domestic violence.

“Bridge Housing is very client focussed and we try to go the extra mile to help clients. As a staff member, I also feel you can go to absolutely anyone in the organisation for assistance.”

Family life with two very young daughters and a new home in Budgewoi, on the Central Coast, keeps Lee more than busy at weekends!
