Bridge Housing has thrown our support behind Homelessness Week 2020 and its call for government stimulus to build more social housing.

HW2020bThe case for social housing stimulus is well established as a means to help the economy recover from the COVD-19 pandemic and would address the long-term issue of a lack of safe, affordable housing for people on low to moderate incomes.

National Homelessness Week from 2 - 8 August has the theme this year of Everybody Needs a Home.

Bridge Housing is a homelessness housing provider. Key programs include:

  • the new NSW Government Together Home program, launched in response to the COVID19 pandemic, under which we will house 45 rough sleepers in Inner Sydney and the Eastern Suburbs, with support partners Mission Australia, Salvation Army and St Vincents de Paul. Read more.

  • STEP to Home, a program to house people experiencing long-term homelessness, delivered in partnership with the Women's Housing Company, Metro Housing and NEAMI National. Read more.
