In October 2017, Bridge Housing, in partnership with Women’s Housing Company, was awarded tenancy management of the northern beaches public housing portfolio under the Social Housing Management Transfer Program.

Northern Beaches package

The Northern Beaches package comprises 1,201 homes and stretches from Mosman to Warriewood. The property portfolio comprises houses, townhouses and units, with over 70% of the properties one-bedroom units or studios.

75% of the households in Northern Beaches are are single person and about 50% of tenants are women.

Transition process

The transition of all properties to Bridge Housing management from the NSW Department of Family and Community Services will be completed by August 2019.

Northern beaches public housing tenants will remain in their homes. 

Bridge Housing will manage 87.5% of the properties, or around 1,050 homes, and Women’s Housing Company will manage 12.5%, or some 150 homes. Learn more about the tenancy allocation. We will work closely to identify which properties are most suitably managed by Women’s Housing Company, with Bridge Housing as lead contractor. 

CEOsManlyWe will assume all housing customer service functions in the area previously delivered by the Department of Family and Community Services.

 Drop-In Sessions 

During May 2019 we will be holding Drop In Sessions in Northern beaches neighbourhoods to support tenants in completing their transition paperwork. Before the Drop Is Sessions begin tenants will receive by post a Tenant Information Pack containing their forms and other important information. pdf View the Drop In Session schedule (738 KB)

The Social Housing Management Transfer Program is a key initiative under the NSW Government's Future Directions policy.

The Minister for Family and Community Services, the Hon. Pru Goward, announced the winners of all nine Social Housing Management Transfer Program packages, representing 14,000 public housing properties across New South Wales, including three portfolios in metropolitan Sydney on 17 October.
