Bridge Housing is the lead partner for a new NSW Government-funded project to help rough sleepers and others experiencing long-term homelessness into safe, secure housing.

The STEP (Supported Transition and Engagement Program) is a $12 million program over three years focussing on inner Sydney. The project is a "housing first" model that prioritises the housing needs of people who have been homeless or in temporary accommodation then supporting them with wrap around services to address their other needs.

With housing partners Women's Housing Company and Metro Housing and support partners NEAMI National we are committed to finding homes for 90 people in 2018-2022. Homes will be sourced from the private rental market, as well as housing providers' own housing portfolios.

Under the program, Bridge Housing will also partner with regional community housing providers to house 30 homeless people outside the Sydney metropolitan area.

Bridge Housing was an innovator in this area from 2011 with our award-winning Platform 70 project which surpassed all targets for housing people and residents sustaining their tenancies. Watch the Platform 70: My journey home video.
