How We Make a Difference tenant outcomes framework

Mon 17, Jul 2017

Bridge Housing today unveiled plans to develop an evaluation and outcomes framework for assessing the impact our work has on tenants’ lives, including the social and economic outcomes.

Speaking at a tenant event in Redfern, CEO John Nicolades said: “Picking up on a commitment we made in our 2015/16 Strategic Plan, we have started to develop a framework to systematically track and communicate the effects of our activities on the lives of our tenants to be clear that we are putting our effort into the right things. “

The framework is being developed by our Manager Service Innovation, Dr Reece Plunkett, with support from the Centre for Social Impact at the University of New South Wales. CSI researcher Stephen Bennett spoke at the launch about the value of social impact measurement and the work Bridge Housing is doing.

Four tenant videos have also been created to evidence how safe, secure, affordable housing has impacted on individual tenants’ lives. The videos will be released publicly over the coming weeks.

Mr Nicolades said: “The Difference We Make is informed by FACS’ outcomes work, including its research into the network of effects different service providers can create.  The Difference We Make is our take on it this research, and aligns the work our overall goal of improving lives and strengthening communities.”

“In the next few months, we will be developing a tenant consultative mechanism to ensure that tenants have a meaningful say in the selection of key indicators and therefore in the next phase of developing The Difference We Make.”
