Bridge Housing contributed to a vibrant industry forum today exploring practical solutions to tenant debt.
The event – being held as part of National Homelessness Week – was hosted at Gilbert + Tobin in Barangaroo and organised by Bridge Housing with Homelessness NSW and the NSW Federation of Housing Associations.
Dr Reece Plunkett presented Bridge Housing’s ground-breaking work on the Hand Up arrears management program. Reece is responsible for service innovation, including development of new programs.
Hand Up won the Leading Innovation award at the recent NSW Australasian Housing Institute awards.
The other presenters were Talie Star, a consumer advocate with Homelessness NSW, and Chris Hartley in the Senior Project Officer with Homelessness NSW and Deborah Georgiou, Head of Policy & Communication at NSW FHA.
They were joined by Meredith Osborne, Manager, Work and Development Order Service at Legal Aid New South Wales, for a Q and A forum exploring best practice responses to tenant debt and financial inclusion.
