Design Guidelines to inform best practice residential development

Bridge Housing has launched comprehensive new Design Guidelines to guide the future development of high quality residential housing and exemplary placed-based community building.
The Bridge Housing Design Guidelines is a practical resource for developers, builders, design consultants, building product suppliers and others who may be contracted to deliver new residential developments for Bridge Housing.
CEO John Nicolades said: “The Design Guidelines Working Group, led by Development Director Christopher Dib and with input from tenant representatives, is to be congratulated. This document brings together our best practice research, knowledge of planning regulation, practical development experience and aspirations to provide the very best affordable housing for our residents.”
The guidelines - launched on 11 December 2017 - aim to provide:
- Best practice environmentally sustainable principles
- Green communal open spaces to host social interaction
- Robust and durable construction
- Excellent residential amenity.
