Homelessness Programs

Bridge Housing has a strong, enduring commitment to helping these people who are most disadvantaged. With our traditional base in the inner city of Sydney, we have led the development and implementation of a number of innovative homelessness programs, and extended these partnerships across our portfolio.

We work in partnership with a range of support services to provide responsive tenancy management linked to wrap around support for our tenants to sustain their tenancies and assist them to meet their goals.

Homelessness

Examples of our work in this area include:

  • Specialist Homelessness Services: Bridge Housing provides tenancy and property management services in partnership with homelessness service partners including:
Options Youth (for young people in the eastern suburbs)
Youth Off The Streets (for young people in the inner west of Sydney) and
St Vincent De Paul (complex needs clients across the eastern suburbs and inner west).
  • Connect 100: we are a key partner in the FACS Connect 100 program, which provides a rapid housing response to homelessness people who have drifted into the inner city.
  • Platform 70: Sydney’s original Housing First program for chronic rough sleepers in the inner city. Under the initiative, Bridge Housing head leased properties for tenants who were provided with intensive psycho-social support services by NEAMI National. Working together, we exceeded the target set for the program, housing 107 people by the end of the pilot in 2015. Today over 70% of clients have sustained their tenancies despite the end of the pilot.
