The Northern Beaches package comprises 1,201 homes and stretches from Mosman to Warriewood. The property portfolio comprises houses, townhouses and units, with over 70% of the properties one-bedroom units or studios.
75% of the households in Northern Beaches are are single person and about 50% of tenants are women.
The transition of all properties to Bridge Housing management from the NSW Department of Family and Community Services will be completed by July 2019.
Northern beaches public housing tenants will remain in their homes and will be contacted closer to the date of transition. We will keep you informed as new information becomes available.
Bridge Housing will manage 87.5% of the properties, or around 1,050 homes, and Women’s Housing Company will manage 12.5%, or some 150 homes. We will work closely to identify which properties are most suitably managed by Women’s Housing Company, with Bridge Housing as lead contractor.
We will assume all housing customer service functions in the area previously delivered by the Department of Family and Community Services.
Bridge Housing CEO John Nicolades said: “I am delighted to welcome our new northern beaches tenants to the Bridge community over the next 18 months. We will be working closely with you, your local community and FACS to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible.”
We will be starting to get to know your community from August 2018.
