Bridge Housing had a great turnout yesterday for our first block meeting on the Northern Beaches, followed by a barbeque with residents at Manly Cove. More than 20 residents from homes in Cove Ave and Stuart St joined us for the meeting, in spite of the threatening rain clouds.

Housing Manager Jenny Ripton provided an update on the new Manly Cover outreach office, to be opened weekly, and local Police Crime Prevention Officers Lorraine and Rochelle gave a talk about community safety and the Next of Kin program whereby tenants can register a nominated contact person in case of emergency. Rebecca from Communities Northern Beaches was on hand to discuss community programs.

A number of residents also expressed interest in Bridge Housing’s Community Greening initiative and Big Ideas Grants program.

Many thanks to everyone who assisted, especially our Tenant Advisory Group (TAG) representatives Julia Nunes and Love Tru who kindly came and talked about their experiences as TAG members and representatives.
