Bridge Housing has joined community housing organisations from around the world in San Francisco this week for the Leadership Exchange of the International Housing Partnership

CEO John Nicolades is attending the annual event with 13 other Australian community housing CEOs to share and discuss approaches to policy and organisational structures that impact the development, operation, and sustainability of social housing.

The Leadership Exchange is designed to foster:

  1. The exchange of information on areas of common interest
  2. Deeper collaboration and exploration on specific areas identified as priorities
  3. The creation of opportunities for business collaborations among members.

It brings together housing providers from Australia, Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. Under the leadership of Power Housing Australia, Australian providers have been members since 2010, and Australia has hosted two IHPs, in 2013 and 2017.

Members will discuss a range of topics, including new investment vehicles for housing, such as the Australian Government’s National Housing Investment and Finance Corporation (NHFIC), from which Bridge Housing has secured a $40 million loan.
