Bridge Housing will invest $1.5 million of NSW Government stimulus funding in upgrading social housing properties on the Northern Beaches.

Bridge was one of 31 successful community housing organisations to receive a share of $40m in stimulus funding announced yesterday by the Minister for Water, Property and Housing, Melinda Pavey.

The Government said the $40 million cash-flow injection provides social housing tenants better quality of living and greater comfort and safety, while strengthening the NSW economy.

Bridge housing will undertake upgrade works in our Northern Beaches portfolio, including:

  • External and internal upgrades to free-standing cottages in Seaforth and Narraweena
  • Internal upgrades to studio apartments in Dee Why, including kitchen and bathroom renovations, painting and new carpets.

All works need to be completed by 30 June this year.

We received around $1 million from the NSW Government last year, which Bridge Housing matched in order to invest some $2 million in social housing upgrades.
